Our history

40-50

1940s

Mr. José Marangoni initially starts a small Electrical equipment repair shop.
With the 2nd world war Brazil has difficulty to import, and Mr. José Marangoni starts to manufacture transformers.

1950s

Marangoni Industry and electrical material LTDA comes along with the post-war.

Marangoni´s expanded portfolio includes Transformers, Surge Arresters and High voltage disconnect keys.

60-70

1960s

A period of company expansion. In 1967, the company name was changed to Marangoni Maretti Electric Industry Ltda.

1970s

Marangoni expands its portfolio and begins to manufacture Radiators and Butterfly Valves
In September 1979, Brown Boveri S/A aquires 30% of Marangoni´s stocks.

80-90

1980s

The year of 1981 is highlighted by the beginning of the construction of the new factory.
In 1987 Marangoni begins to be part of the Swedish-Swiss group ABB due to the fusion of ASEA and Brown Boveri.
In 1991 Marangoni buys its stocks back and becomes 100% Brazilian again.
In July 1999, the first international investment takes place. Andean Marangoni is created in the city of Bogota, focusing on hot welding for transformers.

2000

2000

The year 2000 comes with a great achievement with the implantation of ISO 9001.
In 2002, Marangoni expands to the European Market with a new factory in Zagreb, Croatia.
In 2005, Andean Marangoni ceases its activities.
In 2006, a major verticalization takes place when Marangoni builds their own galvanizing plant.
In 2007, Marangoni expands to the road sector. At that same year, Marangoni implants the system of corporative governance.

2010

2010

In 2010, there is the second verticalization with the creation of a chemical sector and the manufacture of water-based paints. The company ceased its activities in Croatia this same year due to the European Crisis.
In 2011, Marangoni intensifies the investments in Brazil and starts the manufacture of customized tubes and conduits.
In April 2012, Marangoni starts a joint venture with the German Company Meiser. Marangoni Meiser Ltdafocuses on industrial floor grating.
In May 2012, a manufacture line of thermoplastic is opened, expanding the portfolio to the road sector.
